Construction Progress Claim

When the builder calls for your next draw-down on the building Contract, that is when you contact our office and arrange for one of our inspectors to assess the workmanship to date. The report will include a series of digital photos with narration under each photo as to what is wrong and what needs to be done to rectify any problems encountered. On our next inspection, we will try to determine if the problems encountered in our previous report have been carried out.

Please note the builder cannot refuse access to the home, during normal working hours, as this would be a breach of the “Home Building Contracts Act of 1991” as the “Act” clearly states in Part 4, clause 26 – “Access for inspection of building work” – that the builder must not prevent the owner or authorised person from inspecting the home building work to which the contract relates. if the owner or authorised person is acting by the contract, refusal is punishable by a $1000.00 fine.
